Who Do I Call?

Call the main office number 229-883-8330 with the extensions listed below.

Reporting a Power Outage
    
 Energy Control Center, extension 506.  Sometimes the outage may be only in your home.  Check the neighborhood to see if the power is off in all homes.  When reporting an outage, give your phone number and your address and be as brief as possible to keep the phone lines open.

Reconnection
    
Call Dispatch extension, number 508, during business hours; Energy Control Center Extension number 506 after hours.  In the event service is disconnected due to a customer's failure to pay, a penalty fee is charged.  Payment of the past due bill or satisfactory payment arrangements will be required before service is restored. 

Complaint Concerning High Bill
    
Call Special Services, extension number 502, if you suspect a problem with your bill due to billing errors, misread meters or questions on rates.  

Transfer Services or New Services
     Call Customer Service, extension number 501.  New customers must come into the office and provide needed information.  A deposit may be required before services can be turned on at the new address.

Payments Received
     Call Teller Department, extension number 500.  The Teller Department processes all payments received on the date it was received.  If dropped in the night deposit after 5:00 p.m., the payment will be processed the next business day.

New Construction
    
Call Engineering, extension number 336, for inquiries as to where certain services that are not already established on the property will be located.

Relocate Services on Property
    
Call Customer Service, extension number 501.  The location will need to be investigated before any services can be moved.

Tree Trimming
    
Call Customer Service, extension number 501.  Only tree and tree limbs touching our services will be trimmed.

Cutting Down Trees on Your Property
     Call Customer Service, extension number 501.  WG&L will send a technician to take down your service and put it back up when your finished.

Security Light Out
    
Call Energy Control, extension number 506, for lights owned by WG&L.

Street Light Out
    
Call Energy Control, extension number 506.  Please report the location of the light by closest address.

New Security Light Installation
     Call Engineering, extension number 340.  WG&L will need to look at the property to determine type of light needed.

Water Leak
    
Call Energy Control, extension number 506.  If you suspect a water leak and have followed the suggested steps in finding the leak, call and WG&L will send a technician to your property.

Billing Questions
    
Call Special Services, extension number 502, for questions concerning the calculation of your bill.

Pilot Light Lit
     Call Customer Service, extension number 501, to have the gas meter unlocked for an outside contractor to light your pilot light.  WG&L does not light pilot lights.

Smell Gas Inside
    
Call Dispatch, extension number 508, from 7:30 a.m till 4:00 p.m.  After 4:00 p.m., call Energy Control, extension number 506.  If you smell a rotten egg odor in you home, please follow the suggested steps for smelling gas in your home and call WG&L from a neighbors phone.

Smell Gas Outside
     Call Energy Control, extension number 506.  If you smell a rotten egg odor outside your home, please call WG&L.

Trash Pickup
    
WG&L does not provide the garbage pick up.  Please call Public Works at 883-6950.

Financial Matters Other Than Billing
     Call Accounting Department, extension 503. 

Time a Service Technician Will Be At Location
   
Call Dispatch, extension number 508.
