Meter Tampering
It may be hard to believe-but people actually try to steal water, gas and electricity. People who don't pay for their services make water, gas and electric service more costly for everyone!
WG&L has an investigations department. This office investigates and prosecutes cases involving Water, Gas and Light services theft. Tampering with utility company equipment can cause severe or even fatal consequences. It can also cost a thief up to $1,000 in fines and 12 months in jail.
