Water, Gas and Light Board of Commission
The Water, Gas and Light Commission was established by City Charter in 1912 with the Mayor serving as ex-officio chairman and four other members to be appointed by the City Commission to serve terms of two years. Each appointed member can serve no more than three consecutive two-year terms. The commission is vested with the exclusive authority to establish water, gas and electric rates and to make and enforce rules for the collection of the same.
Board of Commission meetings are normally scheduled for the last Thursday of each month at 8:30am in the third floor conference room at our 207 Pine Avenue, Albany, Georgia location. Any alteration of this schedule will be posted for public view at the 207 Pine Avenue location.
